Dr. Underwood is a licensed mental health counselor, a licensed marriage and family therapist, and an ordained minister. He holds credentials as a certified chaplain and certified pastoral counselor. He is the director and president of Aletheia Counseling, PA, a Christian counseling practice in the Orlando area, serving Central Florida. Dr. Underwood has over 18 years of practical experience in grief and loss counseling as a licensed funeral director. He is a skilled facilitator for conferences on grief and loss recovery as well as marriage and family relationships. Dr. Underwood also has trained in mediation and dispute resolution and the collaborative divorce counseling process.
Dr. Underwood’s counseling experience include a wide variety of client issues, such as depression and bipolar issues, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders of adults and children. He is associated with New Life Ministries Counselor Network: sponsor of Every Man’s Battle workshops, which deals with internet pornography and sexual addictions.
In addition to New Life Ministries, professional associations include the American Association of Christian Counselors and the American Biblical Counselors Association.
Dr. Chuck Underwood received his Ph.D. from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida in Counseling Psychology and Educational Leadership. He is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society. He earned his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Liberty University. His Bachelor of Science degree from Franklin Pierce College was in Business Administration and Management. He also graduated from New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences with an Associate of Science degree in Funeral Science and Grief Psychology. He is a member of the Sigma Mu Sigma Honor Society, where he received the Mu Sigma Alpha Award for Academics.
